i need to believe in GOD but i can’t
my rational mind won’t allow it. sure, i can get into a cosmogony as per the one suggested by K Dick but this doesn’t address my NEED for GOD. that is comfort, a sense of higher purpose, and most importantly a belief in a cosmic design that is concerned with my (and everyones) wellbeing. in other words, i wish i could CHOOSE to be crazy.
the light of reason set us free and fucked us at the same time. people don’t go for existentialism hard core like they do for religion because its much much harder to establish a functional set of beliefs and practice without the fear/hope dichotomy of religious belief.
